Wildcat Rock Trail

The Wildcat Rock Trail, located in the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge area southeast of Asheville, is a 6-mile round-trip, moderately strenuous hike that ascends 1,800 feet in elevation. The trail offers stunning views, including a 100-foot waterfall, Little Bearwallow Falls, and panoramic vistas from Wildcat Rock. Along the way, hikers can enjoy spring wildflowers and diverse plant life, with the trail winding through forests and meadows. The trailhead is located at 3823 Gerton Highway, with parking for about 15 vehicles. The hike takes around 2-3 hours, and the trail offers both rugged beauty and rewarding scenic views, making it a must-visit for nature lovers.
