At 411 feet, Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina is the tallest waterfall east of the Rockies, with the combined falls dropping 811 feet. A paved quarter-mile walkway from the parking lot leads to an accessible overlook, offering a stunning view of the falls. For a closer experience, a lower overlook is accessible via 154 wooden steps. Beyond the overlooks, a half-mile spur trail descends 600 feet to the Whitewater River and the Foothills Trail, providing additional scenic views.
