This stunning waterfall in Pisgah National Forest is located just three miles from I-40 in Old Fort. Start with the 1.1-mile River Trail to reach the Lower Catawba Falls, a breathtaking 250-foot cascade. For a shorter, easier hike, simply retrace your steps back to the trailhead. For a more challenging adventure, continue up 580 stairs to a 60-foot observation tower, offering stunning panoramic views. This intermediate trail is 3.5 miles roundtrip.
